Baton Rouge Speech and Debate Club

Baton Rouge, LA
The Baton Rouge Speech and Debate Club is a group of homeschoolers who desire to focus on communicating for Christ by celebrating the power of words, using the art of persuasion, and enjoying the excitement of captivating arguments all through the lens of a biblical worldview.
Whether you're a returning member or a novice, this club is your platform to explore, grow, and excel. We foster an environment that encourages engaging discussions to expand knowledge, sharpen critical thinking, and develop compelling speaking skills. We are a parent-run and student-led club. Experienced students provide mentoring while the parents give guidance and encouragement.
Our club offers Lincoln Douglas and Team Policy debate styles. Moot Court debate is an option for NCFCA affiliates but not generally covered during our weekly meetings.
We are a competitive club that trains students for competition in NCFCA Christian Speech and Debate, which is the largest Christian speech and debate league in the nation. While our emphasis is on learning to communicate, not winning, we expect all our parents and students to participate and do their part to continue the success of our club.
Our mission is that of the NCFCA: To challenge and equip ambassadors for Christ to communicate truth with integrity and grace.
Let’s join in this journey together and “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory...” (2 Peter 3:18)
