About Our Region

Our region is home to multiple clubs and tournaments on Oahu and we’re adding additional clubs on other islands. Our students consistently travel and represent Hawaii well in national speech and debate competitions and they are gaining skills that will serve them well for a lifetime.

Region 1 Coordinator

Maile Higashi
Region 1 Coordinator
Maile and her husband, Mike, live in East Honolulu on the island of Oahu. They have four children and a daughter-in-law, all of whom competed (and two who currently compete) in NCFCA beginning in 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound. Her hobbies include coffee over long chats with family and friends, hiking, and spending time with her sweet grandchildren, most of all!
