This course offers instruction on value debate for both novice and advanced high school debaters. Students will learn how to research a topic from a practical and philosophical point of view; construct, defend, and refute an argument; measure and apply values to particular situations; and communicate in a persuasive way to many different types of audiences. Weekly hands-on activities accompany each lesson to allow students to apply these skills in a fun and practical way. In addition, this course offers students weekly logic lessons with exercises to improve their reasoning and analytical skills. Throughout this course, students will also learn to apply a Christian worldview to the activity of debate and be inspired to use their communication skills in service to Christ.
