Getting Ready

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, (NIV)

1 Peter 3:15

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; (NKJV)

1 Peter 3:15

Getting Ready!

My county here in Washington state is in Phase 1.5/2. What in the world does that mean?

While many parents are working from home and students are learning online, churches and organizations are trying to figure out the right mix. No matter where you stand on the issues, the constantly changing lay of the land makes one thing perfectly clear...there is nothing "normal" about this season.

We trust God is sovereign and still in control, so what’s next? WE GET READY!

Like every other year, the NCFCA team has been hard at work all summer preparing for the coming season.

Does the preparation look the same this year? No.

Do we know exactly what the season will look like? Nope.

Will we have in-person tournaments? We hope so and continue to plan to that end.

Will we have an online platform ready? For sure.

Will it be a typical online platform that will just make you miss your friends? Absolutely not. Sneak peeks coming soon!

Like you, we are watching and evaluating situations around the country. Our task force and leadership team are gathering data, asking questions, and moving forward!

Why? As Christians, we are called to be ready, to be prepared…always.

Sometimes the need for readiness is predictable: a scheduled presentation, a regular visit to the nursing home, or your turn to speak at the tournament.  Other times, the need for readiness is unpredictable: an impromptu conversation with a neighbor, a fallacious position posed as fact in class, or a sudden loss that leaves you reeling. Either way, readiness is the result of prayer, preparation, and practice.

Although 2020 has been and will continue to be unpredictable, why would we, as an organization, as parents, as students, stop preparing now? We have the opportunity RIGHT NOW to raise up ambassadors for Christ who stand up for what is right and noble, who defend justice and freedom, and who promote unity and peace. For such a time as this, as “unprecedented” and “uncharted” as it may be, we can and should prepare the next generation to communicate truth with integrity and grace.

Every year, as we begin our new season, we set aside time to pray for our mission, our families, our leadership, and our country.

Join us for our Annual Day of Prayer this Tuesday, September 8th at 2pm CT.

Register to attend our live Zoom meeting.

Press on!
