Special thanks to Sheri Byerly, Coordinator of Homeschool Relations, at Dallas Baptist University for her contribution to this post.
Dallas Baptist University is a nationally ranked, comprehensive, Christ-centered, global university, with a mission to produce servant leaders through the integration of faith and learning. We are home to more than 4,200 students, representing over 50 countries around the world. At DBU, you will discover a community of leaders whose heart is to care for others while teaching in a myriad of academic disciplines. We embrace the premise that all truth is God’s truth, and we seek knowledge to make a bold impact in the world as transformers of culture. DBU also has one of the lowest costs among Christian colleges in the U.S. and its location in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex gives students numerous internship and career opportunities.
DBU has a thriving home-school population with students from all over the country. Each year DBU welcomes over 50 homeschool students into its incoming class. That represents over 10% of all incoming first-year students! We believe homeschool students bring unique qualities to our campus and are often our most prepared and dedicated students! Specific to NCFCA, DBU hosts a yearly tournament on campus where the participants get to experience our beautiful campus and facilities! All incoming students are eligible for several different scholarships which include Academic, Christian Service, and Christian Leadership. Through on campus living the student will experience authentic Christian community that is intentionally and organically woven into every aspect of campus life.
Coming out of home schooling, I was very firm in my expectations for college. DBU has provided the unique opportunity for me to mature my faith through pursuing a high-quality education, involvement with various Christ-centered campus organizations, and immersion in an environment that celebrates Christ.Matthew Demschsak, Former Homeschooler and Current DBU Student
