League Policies

  1. Rule B.1 requires you to verbally state the source for any supporting material. Rule C.11 requires you to “document verifiable support for analysis” on a 3” x 5” card, which means including enough information so that someone can reasonably find that same information. Writing down this information on the 3” x 5” card prepares you to be able to remember these data points, which builds your credibility to analyze the topic.

Judges will likely not only listen for who or where the material is from but also when that information was published since this is often an important element in understanding current events. They will use the Academic Integrity section on the ballot to reflect how well you have communicated the appropriate information for your sources.

Note: Reworded on 1/4/25 to clarify what is required by the rules and what should be reflected on the ballots.
