2022-2023 Debate Resolutions Announced

We're thrilled to announce the winning resolutions for Lincoln-Douglas Value and Team Policy Debate for next season!

2022-2023 Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate

The winning resolution with 330 first-place votes: 

The individual right to property ought to be valued above the economic interest of the community.

  • Second place with 209 first-place votes: Physical violence is a just response to political oppression.
  • Third place with 102 first-place votes: Governments have a moral obligation to recognize one or more of the following as human rights: healthcare, housing, and/or universal basic income.

2022-2023 Team Policy Debate Resolution

The winning resolution with 401 first-place votes:

Amended wording as of July 18, 2022: The United States Federal Government should significantly reform its import and/or export policy within the bounds of international trade.

  • Second place with 151 first-place votes: The United States Federal Government should significantly reform its policies regarding international research collaboration.
  • Third place with 86 first-place votes: The United States Federal Government should substantially increase economic assistance to one or more countries in eastern or southern Africa as defined by the United Nations GeoScheme.

The winning resolutions will offer competitors in both styles of debate the opportunity to learn more about some core economic principles!
